Class Descriptions
Dungeons and Dragons
Time: 10:00-10:50
Ages: 9-15
Class size: 3-5 students
Semester cost: $50
We will be playing the Tabletop RPG Dungeons and Dragons. Participants will make and control characters as they go on different adventures controlled by the Dungeon Masters. Check out Elian & Tori's awesome presentation about their class HERE!
Instructor (Student Led): Elian & Tori
Elian & Tori are teens who have been with SHARK since our first year. Both are avid Dungeons and Dragons players. Tori co-taught Anime Club at SHARK in Fall 2024
LEGO Lab
Time: 10:00-10:50 pm
Ages: 7-11
Class size: 3-6 students
Semester cost: $35
This class will focus on all the fun things you can do with LEGO. We will provide LEGO bricks to use during class. We plan on having weekly themes and short building technique demonstrations. Students will be encouraged to use their creativity and will have an opportunity to build, present & describe their creations to the group.
Instructor (Student Led) : Evie & Quinn
Evie & Quinn are teens who have been with SHARK since our first year. Whether following set instructions or coming up with unique brick combinations and creative builds, Master Builder Quinn has a passion for LEGO construction. Lifelong LEGO enthusiast and inventive builder Evie is looking forward to sharing her chaotic ideas.
Craft Club
Time: 11:00-11:50
Ages: 8+
Class size: 10 students
Semester cost: $20
Students are invited to bring their own craft projects and work on them while enjoying a relaxed, social atmosphere. Whether you're knitting, making friendship bracelets, or practicing origami, this is a great opportunity to unwind, share ideas, or just chat with fellow crafters. Come for the creativity, stay for the conversation.
Instructor: The members of SHARK leadership will rotate in hosting this club. We ❤️ crafts!
Sensory Storytime
Time: 11:00-11:50
Ages: 4-7
Class size: 4-8 students
Semester cost: $30
We'll read a picture book or 2 and then do activities that include sensory things like play dough, digging in dried peas or beans, crafts, etc
Instructor: Beth Squire
Beth has been homeschooling her three kids for five years and holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She loves to craft, from sewing and cross-stitching to crocheting, and is always trying out new projects. In her free time, Beth enjoys reading and discovering new music, constantly seeking new inspiration
Printmaking
Time: 12:00-12:50 pm
Ages: 12-16
Class size: 4-10 students
Semester cost: $85 - supplies will be included
We will explore different styles and techniques of printmaking
Instructor: Erin Powers
Erin Powers has been a homeschool parent for 10 years and is a parent to three, ages 22, 15, & 12. Erin has over a decade of volunteer and professional experience working with children and youth. Erin loves being creative in a variety of mediums, live music, and spending time outdoors.
Elementary Art
Time: 12:00-12:50
Ages: 6-12
Semester cost: $60
Each week students will be introduced to a different famous artist. We'll then create our own art based on the style and techniques that artist used. At the end of the semester, students will select their own pieces to exhibit at our very own art show.
Instructor: Cat Fialla
Cat is always making things; She will be most likely found with yarn or another craft material in her hands. She is a former elementary school teacher with a BS in Early Childhood Education and has been homeschooling her own three kids for almost a decade. So far she has taught Fiber Arts/Crochet, Mindful Art and has led Teen Social at SHARK and she has previously taught co-op classes with the Alliance for the Pursuit of Knowledge co-op, including Art, Fiber Arts, 3D Art, Weaving, Rube Goldberg/Simple Machines and Drama.
Teen Social
Time: 1:00-1:50
Ages: 13+
Semester cost: $30
This just-for-fun class will have teens to coming together, building friendships, and hanging out. We will be playing board games and some video games as well. Teens will need their cell phones or a WiFi capable device to play some of the games this semester, so make sure they have them charged and ready.

Clay Creatures
Time: 1:00-1:50
Ages: 9-13
Class size: 5-7 students
Semester cost: $50
Clay Creatures is a fun and interactive art class designed for 9 year olds to 13 year olds to explore their creativity by making unique clay creatures. Students will learn basic clay sculpting techniques including shaping painting and adding details to bring their ideas to life. Each session will focus on creating a new creature encouraging imagination and self-expression while developing motor skills. This class is perfect for beginners and young artists looking to expand their artistic talents in a fun, supportive and engaging environment
Instructor (Student led): Layla & CeCe
Layla and CeCe are students who have been with SHARK since our first year. CeCe is a cat-loving creative artist that loves drawing and working with clay. Layla is passionate about sharing her love for art and painting, inspiring others to unleash their creativity and create their own masterpieces.
